How do we define racism as a community? | WTIP North Shore Community Radio, Cook County, Minnesota
How do we define racism as a community? There’s no doubt 2020 was a year of challenges. The pandemic, wildfires, an economic crisis, and the matter of racism captured attention all across the country.

Cook County was no exception. In 2020, community members took part in local demonstrations, wrote letters to the editor and sparked community conversations around the topic of racism. So as we enter a new year, WTIP is embarking on a new project called "It Happens Here: Racism in Cook County, MN." The goal? To take a deeper look at racism right here in Cook County. And we need to hear from you. Here's what we want to know:   How do you define racism? How have you experienced or witnessed it play out in our community?  Tell us in a short story, in a phrase or share a word that has meaning to you.   Call WTIP’s listener line at 218-353-1033 and share your answers with us for possible inclusion in upcoming episodes. That’s 218-353-1033. Thanks for your help.
